Jamie’s teaching style comes from her light-hearted spirit, positive energy and desire to share her love of fitness and wellness with others. She provides a calming and encouraging space where you are able to energize and connect with your mind, body and spirit. Jamie is known for supportive nature that inspires you to believe in yourself.
Jamie is from a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a dancer from the moment she could roll over and was often found walking on her hands, hanging out in a backbend or resting in splits. In college, Jamie’s passion for fitness led her to teach group fitness while working her way through dental school and orthodontic residency. She later joined the Air Force and her love of fitness continued to evolve. Her interest in yoga continued to grow not only for the gained physical benefits that complimented her long-distance running, but also as an effective way to slow down from the constant hustle of life. It became an effective and rewarding way to recharge her spiritual and mental battery.
She completed her first yoga certification in 2007 and later attended her first yoga retreat in Tulum, Mexico where she connected deeper to her yoga journey. Understanding the importance of self-care and a desire to strengthen her yoga practice she took a spontaneous leap and attended her second yoga retreat in Ubud, Bali. It was life changing in every possible way. She decided that if she could help even a single person in the way that yoga, fitness and meditation helped her, she needed to try. So, after many years of growing and evolving in her own practice, she completed her E-200 RYT /500RYT Yoga Alliance certification, 20 hour YA Yin Certification, 50 hour Yin, Restorative and Mindfulness Certification, Youth Yoga Certification, Yoga for Athletes, 100 hours Advance Hands On Adjustment Certification, Sound Therapy Certified and Master Reiki healer. Jamie is also a certified Barre Instructor.
In her yoga classes she teaches the fundamentals of each posture through a vinyasa flow sequence allowing her students to safely achieve all of the benefits of each asana. In Barre, her desire to help others believe in themselves comes across in her fun yet challenging teaching style. Her hope is to assist her students in finding peace in their lives by discovering what brings a smile to their faces and love in their hearts so that their souls may shine. ॐ
